A classic gold test and acid gold testing kit. I took 2 cubans from my store at 64 West 47th street and a 24k gold coin to show you guys how it works. You take each piece and make a long scratch on the test plate from the gold. Hit those lines with a drop or 2 of each liquid solution (10k,14k, and 18k gold). If the solution dissolves the scratch of gold, then it fails the test. Just one of many ways to make sure you can trust the people you shop with in the diamond district. Tips On Giving Jewelry That They Will Love
Do you ever wake up, look in the mirror, and feel like there’s something wrong? Your clothes look great, your socks match, and your shoes are on the right feet, but something is not right. It’s jewelry. Even simpler pieces of jewelry can improve your outfit.
Save some of your most fragile jewelry for special occasions only. Some fragile stones like opal and peridot should only be worn for special events and then carefully stored until the next occasion. This may seem irritating since you want to be able to wear your best pieces, but it can prolong their life if you avoid exposing them to harm too often.
Try not put any of your jewelry on before applying your makeup. By putting your pieces on before doing this, you risk getting them covered in things like powders and deposits from your makeup. This then collects around gem settings and on metal causing them to turn and look cheap and old.
If wearing earrings makes your ears feel itchy or irritated, ensure that you buy nickel-free jewelry in the future. Nickel is often used in inexpensive costume jewelry, but it can be very irritating to some people. Look for earrings with solid gold or platinum posts for the most hypoallergenic option.
When cleaning silver, it is best to invest in a jeweler’s rouge cloth. It has a polishing compound on the red side which is safe to use with all gemstones, and the yellow side is intended for giving a polish that will sparkle. This will keep your jewelry looking gorgeous for a long time to come!
The first step to a bridal outfit is the dress, and then everything else, including your jewelry, should be selected afterward. Your jewelry should not only match your dress, but highlight and color that is found in it. If you have sequins that shine opalescent pink, then highlight that with a rose topaz earring, for example.
Clean your turquoise jewelry with warm water and a soft toothbrush. Never use chemicals on turquoise, as it is very susceptible to damage. Simply lightly scrubbing it and drying it with a soft dry cloth can keep your turquoise clean and undamaged, allowing it to last much longer than if you were to use any solutions.
As you have seen in this article, jewelry can be the prefect accessory to add to any outfit. With so many different kinds of jewelry, you can create a look that is traditional, trendy or polished. Before you walk out the door, put on a piece of jewelry to make sure you are looking your best.
